I was so sad when I learned that Rice Dream Pies had been discontinued (the Bars too). In fact, all of the Rice Dream, Soy Dream, Coconut Dream, and Dream Gelato dairy-free frozen desserts have disappeared from store shelves. But Almond Dream Ice Cream has stood the test of time, and can still be found in a handful of varieties.
Almond Dream Ice Cream is the Last in a Long Line of Frozen Desserts
It’s understandable why this dairy-free ice cream has stayed on the market for a decade, thus far. I would say it’s Dream’s most talked about vegan frozen dessert line for good flavors and light but creamy consistencies. We have opted not to add the Almond Dream Bites (like ice cream bon bons) to Go Dairy Free because the company says the chocolate coating “contains milk.” It should be “may contain” due to potential cross-contamination, not “contains,” which implies a milk ingredient. But since it does state “contains” we do not feel comfortable adding that product line. Per their statement:
Our chocolate coated frozen products are not made with milk as an ingredient, but they contain milk due to shared manufacturing equipment.
